I used to have MSE installed for a month or two since it came out, but for some reason it wasn’t working very well for me, it didn’t block very much. I switched to Avast antivirus and used it ever since.

    Is it really good now?

This Article is too old. Microsoft Security Essentials 2013 already launched , and according to facts Microsoft Security Essentials is not secure.

The Microsoft security program missed the certification by one point which was conducted by AV-Test, an independent IT-security lab, to test its efficiency to detect and block malware, zero-day threats, and other online threats. Other than Microsoft Security Essentials, 24 other security programs including Avast, AVG Free, Panda, Bitdefender Internet Security 2013, Kaspersky Internet Security 20130, and F-Secure among others underwent the test. Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 was declared the best security software in the category of paid licenses while AVG Free and Avast snatched 14 points out of 18.
