Review of SA950i headphones from RHA

It is time for another review of a product from RHA.

RHA SA950i Headphones

Back in November 2012 I posted a review of RHA MA450i Earphones. This time I will review their SA950i headphones. I have had the headphones for about a week now and I must say that I like the a lot. One of the first thing I noticed was how light-weight they are compared to other headphones, only 105g is not much for a quality headset in this league. Normally I would say that you can’t get any quality sound of a set of headset that light-weight, but I must admit that the sound this headset delivers is really good. The drivers are micro-coated in titanium that gives the headset precision and ultra-fast response times but also the light-weight. I think you get great sound for the money with this headset.

The inline remote

Just as with the MA450 product this headset has a small handy inline remote you can use to control the volume, but it is only working in Apple devices. The headset works fine on other devices as well, but you will not be able to use the inline remote controller. You can find more info about the RHA inline remote here.

Pros

  • Very light-weight headphones (105g)
  • Smooth design
  • Great sound for the money

Cons

  • The remote only works with Apple devices
  • Only available in black

    Hey Thomas,

Nice review here. It’s cool you were able to find a reasonably-priced set of headphones that are lightweight and offer good sound quality. Also, that inline remote looks pretty handy!

    Best regards,
    Matthew

    Hey Thomas,

A light headset with that price? Now that is something. I’ve got to hand it with you Thomas, the review you just shared made me hype to buy this headset. Though the inline remote can only be used on apple devices, still it can be adjusted manually in the computer which is not really a big deal to do. A very affordable yet high quality product to have in the market.

    1. Hi Farrell
I am sure that you will like them if you end up buying them.

  3. I only have Apple Earpod. I want to have headphone like this but I thing I will not use it that often. If in the future I would own one, I will want to buy one from Bosch.

  4. I really like that it is lightweight. They should use more than one colour though.

    1. Hi Frank
I also think that these headset should be available more color. Black is boring these days 🙂

  5. Though the inline distant can only be used on the apple company gadgets, still it can be modified personally in the pc which is not really a big cope to do. A very cost-effective yet top quality item to have in the marketplace.

Hello there Thomas. Those look good. I’ve been needing some new headphones so may have to consider those.

Good posting ….I also think that these headset should be available in more colors.

I owned this headset for 3 months and everything was perfect.

Suddenly, I got many problems and hearing strange shhhh noise. I tried on few other computers, played other music, etc. Everytime the same.

Since I got warranty I went to shop and they said they can’t do anything about it… I’m so pissed off.

    1. Hi Vladimir

I am sorry to hear that. I have not had any issues with my headphones so far. Maybe you should try and contact RHA directly..!

  9. Wonderful review ! Thanks ! I was thinking of buying this earphone.

    Hi Thomas,

I was looking for a good pair of headphones for indoor listening only. For the price they seem like a pretty good option, but I’m a bit worried about the sound quality.
I like listening to all kinds of music so it’s important for me that the highs, mids and the bass all sound great.

Can you tell what type of genre you been listening to more and which type sounds better in these headphones.

    Cheers,
    ~Alex Andre

    1. Hi Andre
I am listening mostly to pop and rock and I think that the quality is great also when I turn up the volume. By far the best headphones that I have ever had.
