My Google Analytics Traffic for Q2 2011

Google Analytics

3 months ago I published a post about my Google Analytics stats for Q1 of 2011. I got a lot of feedback for that one and have decided to do a follow up for the second quarter of 2011. In these 3 months 3 major things has happened that might have changed a lot in my traffic.

The first think was that I changed my SEO plugin form Headspace 2 to All in One Seo pack This have had a big impact on my Google traffic. The second thing that happened was that one of my StumbleUpon post went very popular overnight and the last thing happened here late June where Google updated their PageRank and ranked my blog a PR3. That was amazing to go from 0 to 3 at once.

My Google Analytics Traffic for Q2

Underneath you can see some of the numbers from my Google Analytics Q2 report. Compared to the first quarter of 2011 my referring sites traffic is larger than my Search Engine traffic. This is all due to my StumbleUpon post that got very popular. Actually has my SEO traffic also increased since quarter 1, but not as much as my Referring sites traffic has.

Traffic types:

For the second quarter of 2011 my referring sites has beaten my Search Engine traffic..!

Referring Sites 39,22%
Search Engines 38,59%
Direct Traffic 22,19%

Search Engines: Search Engines Q2

Google is still in a league of its own when it comes to Search Engines. Bing is still struggling.

Google 71,88%
Yahoo 24,65%
Bing 2,65%
Other 0,85

This quarter StumbleUpon made it to the top by far.

1. Stumbleupon.com
2. Arrastheme.com
3. Bloginteract.com
4. Twitter.com
5. Comluv.com

Top 10 visitors by Country:

Denmark is still at top of my list, but I get more and more visitors from English speaking countries πŸ™‚

1. Denmark 34.41%
2. United States 27.49%
3. United Kingdom 5.71%
4. India 4.35%
5. Canada 2.98%
6. Australia 2.00%

I haven’t noticed any fortnight changes, but the increase in traffic in the last 3 months for me is fine, I mean, good.

    1. Hi Rahul
Thank you. I changed from Headspace2 to AIOSEO a couple of weeks ago and that was where I saw the big increase in Google traffic.

You didn’t tell the exact numbers:D And its really amazing that you get so much traffic from referring sites. Most people get 70% of their traffic from SE’s only..

    1. Hi Karan
Nope, no numbers only % πŸ™‚ To be honest, I don’t get as much traffic as I would like, but it is slowly increasing so that is great. One of the reason why my referring sites percentage is that high is due to StumpleUpon. I get a lot of traffic from that site each day.

      1. karan

Ya the only thing that matters is that the visitors are increasing. Best of luck for your future:D

    Hi, Thomas

I remember reading the post re: your stats a few months back. It’s interesting to see the change and increase, especially from StumbleUpon. Great work and congrats!

I haven’t experienced a huge leap in traffic, but it’s more so steady.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Allyson
My traffic was also steady for a long time but one day I logged in my Google Analytics StubleUpon traffic was through the roof. Overall I am pretty happy with the progress.

      1. Allyson Stewart

That’s fantastic. That’s truly something to be excited about!

      2. Stunble upon never worked for me. I even removed its button from my site.

Anyways, not all things work for all sites.

        1. Hi Saqib
You are right. What works for me don’t have to work for everybody. StumbleUpon did not work well for me for the first couple of months, but one day it started to work and that was just great πŸ™‚

        2. Allyson Stewart

You’re right, Saqib. I’ve only used StumbleUpon a few times. It doesn’t always work for me either. I guess it just depends.

  6. I joined a blogging challenge last month and my viewers have almost doubled! Also, I am putting more stress on the networking aspect so I am hoping things will be getting better! πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Hejra
That is great to hear. Always great when those thing happens to us. I would say that networking is very useful as well.

  7. That is an awesome traffic buddy. I think All in one SEO is the best SEO plugin, I am also using it and it is doing a good work.

In my case the traffic is equally shared between search engines, direct visitors and referring sites.

Good luck for your Q3 Thomas πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Rojish
It is always good to have traffic spread out on different sources so you aren’t relying on a single source.
I will go and have a look on your site in a minute.

  8. Safal Sha

Great work dude. all the best πŸ™‚

  9. Jonah

Thanks for sharing! I haven’t really taken Google Analytics seriously for my site yet. Do you think it helps to have it? I haven’t completed my verification but I check my site stats using other tools. Is that ok u think?

    1. Hi Jonah
I know that there are other tools for statistics and they might be fine for your needs, but I think that Google Analytics is great for evaluating traffic like: what countries are my visitors coming from and what browser are they using just to mention a few of the answers Google Analytics can give you.

  10. Thanks, Thomas! I’d take your good advice then! πŸ™‚ I appreciate it.
