My Google Analytics Traffic Report for Q1 – 2015

Will you believe it? Another quarter has past and it is time for another of my popular Google Analytics Traffic Reports. In this report, I will share some of my numbers with you from the past quarter of 2015 and hopefully we can all learn something about traffic that is trending at the moment.

Traffic Types

  • Search Engines: 45.27%
  • Direct traffic: 27.87%
  • Referring Sites: 14.88%
  • Social traffic: 11.74%
  • Other traffic: 0.05%

Compared with Q4 of 2014 my numbers is pretty much the same when it comes to shares in the different traffic types. My referring traffic has been a lot better, while my Social traffic has dropped.

Organic traffic (Search Engines Only)

  1. Google: 84.72%
  2. Bing: 8.07%
  3. Yahoo: 6.16%
  4. Baidu: 0.37%
  5. Ask: 0.17%

Again, it is almost the same as in Q4 of 2014, but Bing keeps on climbing up, but it still is baby steps. Baidu is new at 4th place and Yandex is out of top 5.

Top 5 Referring Sites

  1. www1.social-buttons.com
  2. forum.topic19949279.darodar.com
  3. techtutorials.net
  4. o-o-6-o-o.com
  5. forum20.smailik.org

When it comes to Top 5 Referring sites the list is almost completely new. It is some odd websites referring to my blog and I am not sure what to think of it. My normally number 1 in this list, StumbleUpon has been moved to the Social traffic category by Google Analytics. I guess that make good sense. Techtutorials.net is still one of my best sites when it comes to bringing Referring traffic to this blog.

Top 10 visitors by CountryGoogle Analytics Map Overlay

  1. Denmark
  2. United States
  3. India
  4. United Kingdom
  5. Russia
  6. Australia
  7. Canada
  8. Germany
  9. Pakistan
  10. Bangladesh

I am still getting traffic from extremely many countries. People from 124 different countries visited my blog in the past quarter. That is pretty impressive I think. I am afraid that most of the traffic from Russia is spam traffic, but real people from Russia is very welcome here on my blog as well as anyone else 🙂

Key Numbers of Q1 2015

My traffic has overall increased a bit over the last 3 months. Not much, but at least it is going in the right direction:

  • Number of Visits to my blog: 7323 visits Vs. 6931 visits in my Q4 (2014) report (+5.65%)

I my last report I wrote that my bounce rate was not correctly measured. It seems like it has been fixed again, but I can’t show you a correct number until my next report.

Conclusion of my Traffic Report

To sum up my traffic has increased a bit in the first quarter of 2015. It also seems like Google Analytics are now reporting my Bounce rate correct again. I am also pleased to see that I get more and more traffic from Bing Search engines. That makes me less depending on Google and the changes they makes to their algorithm. 3. I never got Any visit ever from Yahoo. What you think can be the Possible reason Sir.

    1. Hi Ajay
Yahoo is not a big player in the Search Engine games anymore. A couple of year ago I was very active on Yahoo answers and I think that might have had influence on my traffic from Yahoo.
You could also try to submit your blog to Yahoo here: http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

Your mention above website list for Top 5 referral list but I have not found that any of the above website is legitimate website , do you think is it a referral spam domains?

And how could we can avoid this type of spam referral visits to our website.

    Thanks
    Ankit

    1. Hi
Techtutorials.net is a real website where I have posted myself. The four other domains are properly referral spam domains. Not sure how to deal with those things to be honest. I know that you can set up a filter to exclude then in your Google Analytics reports, but not sure what else can be done.

  5. It’s nice to see that you have a lot of traffic. I have a tech website as well and I hope I can get some traffic as well, even though I think it’s really hard to compete in this niche. Keep up the good work 🙂

    1. Hi James
Technology is a hard niche to compare in, but it is the only niche can motivate me to keep on working hard week after week 🙂

Hey those are some great stats. My blog is running a little bit low with 2740 visits this month . I hope to get on track as soon as possible. Thanks for sharing such valuable information with us.

    1. Hi
2740 visits is actually not that bad I think. I is a bit more than my average month.

Hi Thomas, Greatings, can you tell me, how to get good traffic of my site?

    1. Thanks
The answer to your question is easy, but the solution is not that easy. All you need is hard work and patience 😉
First of all it takes time to build up traffic to a new site. You need to build up relations to other bloggers and people that are interested in the same topic as you site are focusing on. If you help them out a bit, they might help you too. Start writing comment on other bloggers in your niche. That might drive traffic to your site. If your site is cool and interesting enough they might bookmark you and come back. Of cause, great posts and SEO optimization is good tips too.
      Good luck.

    Hello,
I read your Google Analytics reports, How you getting more visitors from United States its there any tricks from which you get US Traffic and one more thing How to use StumbleUpon Social Share for getting more traffic on website please share about stumbleupon I bookmark your website.Waiting for the reply.
    Thank You
    Best Regards
    Ankush

    1. Hi Ankush
I am not doing anything specific to get visitors form United States. I guess it is because I write about Technology that is interesting all over the world. If I was writing about soccer or cricket I would properly not get much traffic from the US. Regarding StumpleUpon I just share my posts there and share other Stuple other bloggers work there too. Again, it is a big help that I blog about Technology. If I write a post about SEO or something like that I don’t that much traffic from StumpleUpon.

  11. Hay Thomas,
did you know that the Reffering Site (www1.social-buttons.com and forum.topic19949279.darodar.com) it’s just a virtual traffic, it’s a ping from those websites, and those link is just affiliate links, you should bloc the traffic coming from those website because it’s harm your Bounce Rate, they keep pinging on your website to go and visit them,
there are a lot of reffering websites do the something so always check your reffering and be careful some links content virus

    1. Hi
I did know it was not normal visitors that have went by my blog, but I was not aware that it is affiliate links. You have a good point about Bounce Rate. I have not seen any of those links for the past month, but if they come back I will block them for sure.

forum.topic19949279.darodar.com but some seo people said that this traffic is bad and can affects my ranking in google. As i am a new blogger and kind of afraid to get in any sort of trouble??
