My Google Analytics Traffic Report for Q1 – 2016

First quarter of 2016 has past and it is time for another traffic report. I post these reports 4 times a year and here you have the first one of 2016.

Traffic TypesGoogle Analytics

  • Search Engines: 54.06%
  • Direct traffic: 31.40%
  • Referring Sites: 8.01%
  • Social traffic: 6.52%

Overall my organic traffic has improved in the first quarter of 2016. That is always nice to see an improvement in organic traffic, but I also do now it quickly can change back again.

Organic traffic (Search Engines Only)

  1. Google: 89.13%
  2. Bing: 7.67%
  3. Yahoo: 1.55%
  4. Yandex: 0.65%
  5. image.google: 0.31%

It is the same old story about Google and all the rest of the Search Engines. I am using both Google and Bing Webmaster tools to help improving my ranking, but Google is still by far the king of search.

Top 5 Referring Sites

  1. Techtutorials.net
  2. images.google.de
  3. lifehacker.com
  4. duckduckgo.com
  5. images.google.fr

Techturials.net is still my number one when it comes to getting referring traffic from other sites. I submit most of my technical how-to guides to their site and it has been very effective for me. It is also interesting that I get good traffic from both images.google.de and image.google.fr. I still get traffic from lifehacker.com from my back when they shared my article about Microsoft Virtual Academy.

Top 10 visitors by Countrycountries

  1. Denmark
  2. United States
  3. United Kingdom
  4. India
  5. Germany
  6. Australia
  7. Russia
  8. Nederlands
  9. Canada
  10. Spain

My Top 10 visitors by Country is much the usual suspects. Overall I have received traffic to this blog from 132 different countries in the 1. quarter of 2016. That is something I am very pleased with. That means that my posts are read all over the world 🙂

Key Numbers of Q1 2016

  • Number of Visits to my blog:  8488 visits Vs 7357 visits in my Q4 2015 report (+15.37%)
  • My Bounce Rate is: 76.91%

Conclusion on my Traffic Report

Overall my traffic has increased with more than 15%. That is very good if you ask me. I only posted 5 articles in those 3 month making it even more impressive that I got that big a boost in traffic. Most of the improvement came from Google searches. My Bounce Rate has been a bit higher, but I guess that is only naturally when the organic traffic is increasing.

That was all from me for this time. See you back for the next report in 3 months. Until then, I will love to hear how you traffic has been for the last 3 months. Have you also received more organic traffic the last couple of months?

The high bounce rate is an issue that is hard to fix I think. I try to link to related posts in my posts to keep users, but other than that I don’t have any tips.
