My Google Analytics Traffic Report for Q1 – 2017

Once again it is time for another of my regular traffic reports. Hope you will find it interesting reading.

Google Analytics Report Q1 2017

As always I will take you through the different types of traffic and make my conclusion of my progress in the end.

Traffic Types

  • Search Engines:  60.91%
  • Direct traffic:  20.81%
  • Social Media:  10.68%
  • Referring Sites:  7.60%

Not much have changed in my traffic sources in the first quarter of 2017, but I have received more traffic from Social Media’s than from Referring sites. One of the reasons for my increased traffic from Social Media is that I have been more active on services like: Buffer, Triberr and JustRetweet. This quarter was also the one where I finally made the big milestone of 1.000 followers on Twitter 😀

Organic Traffic (Search Engines Only)

  1. Google:  92.54%
  2. Bing:  6.05%
  3. Yahoo:  0.76%
  4. Yandex:  0.33%
  5. AOL: 0.06%

Still only Google and Bing are bringing my blog serious among of traffic, but then again, those two are also the only two Search Engines I am using myself. I do think it is the first time I have seen AOL on the list.

Top 5 Referring Sites

  1. techtutorials.net
  2. lifehacker.com
  3. duckduckgo.com
  4. trickyenough.com
  5. backlinkwatch.com

Techtutorials.net is still the site that brings me must referring traffic. It is a great site for Tutorials for all kind of tech stuff. The site also let me submit my own posts from this blog. Lifehacker.com is also still sending a little traffic my way 🙂 Also this time I am still, as many other bloggers, struggling a bit with referral spam, but have tried to clean out the data from this blog.

Top 10 visitors by Country

  1. United States
  2. Denmark
  3. United Kingdom
  4. Russia
  5. India
  6. Australia
  7. Germany
  8. Canada
  9. Netherlands
  10. Poland

Almost the usual suspects, however Poland is new at spot 10. This quarter my blog has seen visitors from 140 different countries. That keeps on impressing me that my little blog is read all over the world month after month 🙂

Key Numbers of Q1 2017

  • Number of Visits to my blog:  8012 visits Vs 9512 in my latest report (-15.77%)
  • My bounce rate is: 80.93%

Conclusion on my Traffic Report

Compared to last quarter of 2016, my traffic has dropped and my bounce rate has been a bit higher. I guess that reason for this is that I have not been posting as many posts as I would have liked to. I have not had the same time that I used to with this blog and I have also found it hard to come up with new ideas for blogposts that I found interesting enough to write about.

    Hi Thomas,

I’m from Malaysia. This is my first blog in english language. Sorry for my bad english. I want to know how i can get traffic from country just like you. This is my first try. Nice to meet you

    1. Hi
One of the thing you can do is to have a .com .net domain for your blog or website. I wish I had got one myself when I started this blog. Another thing is to write your content in English of cause. You might also want to deliver information that people are searching for. A lot of people are using Google to find solutions for everyday problems. That hard part is to do it better than those that already have written that content or write about solution about things that no one else have yet written about. If you are using social media you might also want to connect with people other language to make it all more international. Sign up for Facebook groups in the niches that you are interested in yourself. Start sharing others stuff. They might return the favor ?
Hope you can use my tips. Good luck.
