My Google Analytics Traffic Report for Q2 – 2015

Another quarter has past and it is time for another of my popular Google Analytics Traffic Reports. Each quarter of the year, I share my traffic numbers and explain how I have been doing traffic-vice and what I have been doing well and what I need to focus on in the months to come. I know I am a bit late with this report, but here it is, including traffic data for this blog from 1 April 2o15 – 30 June 2015.

Traffic TypesGoogle Analytics

  • Search Engines: 50.45%
  • Direct traffic: 23.07%
  • Referring Sites: 14.57%
  • Social traffic: 11.89%
  • Other traffic: 0.03%

This quarter my traffic from Search Engines has increased about 5%. That is always nice to see an increase in organic traffic, but I know that it can drop very fast again.

Organic traffic (Search Engines Only)

  1. Google: 89.24%
  2. Bing: 7.28%
  3. Yahoo: 3.05%
  4. Baidu: 0.21%
  5. Yandex: 0.13%

Not much change in search engine traffic. It is still Google and all the rest. Bing does not seem to be able to take up the fight with Google. I know Microsoft does a lot to promote Bing in Windows, but it does not seem to help them much.

Top 5 Referring Sites

  1. stumbleupon.com
  2. sitevaluation.org
  3. techtutorials.net
  4. corp.stumbleupon.com
  5. www.event-tracking.com

As you can see, I still got some referral spam, but not as much as last time. Stumbleupon.com and techtutorials.net is still the top sites bringing me referral traffic to this blog.

Top 10 visitors by CountryGoogle Analytics Map Overlay

  5. Russia
  6. Australia
  7. Canada
  8. Pakistan
  9. Germany
  10. Bangladesh

Germany and Pakistan has swapped position, but other than that, the Top 10 is the same as last quarter. This time I have had visits to my blog from 129 different countries, including Sri Lanka and Bahrain 🙂

Key Numbers of Q2 2015

My overall traffic is almost the same compared to Q1 of 2015.

  • Number of Visits to my blog:  7408 visits Vs. 7323 visits in my Q4 (2014) report (+1.16%)
  • Bounce Rate: 69.78%

Conclusion of my Traffic Report

Well overall, my traffic is steady. Not much have changed since my last report. The increase a saw from Bing.com in organic traffic has stopped since last time and is almost the same. I might consider changing some things in the way I do things here on my blog if I want to see some big improvements in traffic to this blog. 1. How do you get so much traffic from StumbleUpon? I get next to none. Good work on all that google traffic too 🙂

    1. Hi Belinda
I get that question a lot and the short answer is, I don’t know..!
To be honest it is not all my posts that are doing well on StumbleUpon. This post for example has not got any traffic from StumbleUpon yet. My blogs about technology are doing much better. I don’t think it is about how I do it, but more about what I share there and in what category I put in my posts.

  2. Looking good with the stats there Thomas, StumbleUpon certainly seems to be a stable source of traffic, it ranks quite high in my stats as well.

Your google analytics stats is awesome. You are getting 50% organic traffic which includes traffic from USA also. I am impressed with your google analytics stats. I get around 1200 page views daily but thats not enough.
So Thomas Can you suggest me how can i increase my Traffic??

    Waiting for your Answer!!

    1. Hi
If you get 1200 page views daily I think you should suggest me how to increase my traffic 🙂 How many percent organic traffic do you have yourself?

  4. It’s quite a perfect traffic according to your stats,
But do you think that traffic from sitevaluation.org and event-tracking.com are good for the site? Are these going to affect the bounce rate? But still your bounce rate is good.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

    1. Thank you. The two sites does for sure not do my blog any good, but I can’t do much other than create a filter in my analytics to exclude this kind of traffic.

How did you manage to get so much traffic from Stumble upon bro.I tried bt always failed to capture its audience

    1. Hi
To be honest I am not sure why I have more success in there than other bloggers. I get the question a lot, but what I do is actually very simple. I share my posts and others posts in there. I also link to some of my posts on stumbleUpon on Twitter. Sometimes my posts are not very popular and sometimes my posts are very popular in there, but I always do the same. I do also follow some of my fellow bloggers in there as well.

  7. Thanks for sharing! I get a few views from corp.stumbleupon also. Do you know if that’s spam?

    1. Hi
I have been wondering the same myself. I don’t think it is spam. If you visit the URL you will see that it is a part of StumbleUpon.com, but just a subdomain.
