My Google Analytics Traffic Report for Q4 – 2016

It is time for my last Google Analytics report for 2016. It is based on collected data from Google Analytics and I will as always share my key numbers here. This report is based on traffic data for Q4 2016 (Oct 1, 2016 – Dec 31, 2016).Google Analytics

Traffic Types

  • Search Engines: 62.04 %
  • Direct traffic: 19.01 %
  • Referring Sites: 10.50 %
  • Social Media: 8.00 %

I am still getting good traffic from Search engines and it is of cause great because it tells me that my blog is easy to find by searching, if you are looking for content like I have here on Techwork.dk

Organic Traffic (Search Engines Only)

  1. Google: 93.46 %
  2. Bing: 5.22 %
  3. Yahoo: 0.89 %
  4. Yandex: 0.15 %
  5. Baidu: 0.10%

The list for Search Engines generating traffic to this blog is pretty much the usual suspect. Baidu is however new on the list, but it is not much traffic that engine brings to my blog.

Top 5 Referring Sites

  1. thenextweb.com
  2. addons.mozilla.org
  3. t.umblr.com
  4. techtutorials.net
  5. duckduckgo.com

Some interesting new referring sites has generated traffic my way for the past 3 month. Not sure how/why I have received traffic from addons.mozilla.org, but that is ok by me 🙂 I have also seen a lot of Referrer spam to my blog lately. I have tried to clean my numbers from that traffic, but not sure if I got rid of it all.

Top 10 visitors by Country

  1. United States
  2. United Kingdom
  3. Denmark
  4. Russia
  5. India
  6. Australia
  7. Germany
  8. Canada
  9. Netherlands
  10. Italia

United Kingdom is new at second spot. Russia is at number 4, but I guess that has to do with all the referrer spam that I have seen for the last couple of months. People from 146 different countries has visit my blogs in Q4. That is pretty amazing I think. I have had traffic from exotic places like: Honduras, Maldives, Namibia and Trinidad & Tobago 🙂

Key Numbers of Q4 2016

  • Number of Visits to my blog: 9512 visits Vs 7721 in my latest report (+23.20%)
  • My bounce rate is: 77.69%

Conclusion on my Traffic Report

When it comes to traffic Q4 has been fantastic. 23% more traffic to my site is fantastic. However, some of the increased traffic might be a result of referrer spam. My bounce rate has dropped a bit, which is great, but it is still something I hope to do better in the time to come. Overall Q4 2016 has been a very good period for my blog. In the near future I plan to buy the premium version of the WordPress theme I use here, made by FlexiTheme I hope my blog will benefit from that.
