5 Great Tech Gifts for Christmas

With less than 1 month to Christmas we will soon be very busy with the Holiday shopping. Well I know that I will. I know people that buy all the gifts in November so they don’t need to stress all out about it in December. I am not one of these guys myself, but they are out there. Christmas is also high season for release of new gadgets and Technology. I am sure that a lot of people dreams about a new gadget, smartphone, tablet or some other kind of tech device under the Christmas tree this year. It can sometime be difficult to know what to buy for people to Christmas, but here is a little list that might get you inspired for your Holiday shopping.

5 Tech presents ideas to put under the Christmas tree for 2012

1. Lego Ninjago

For the young boys and girls Lego Ninjago might be the perfect gift. I do personally know a couple of young kids that love playing with Lego Ninjago. Lego Ninjago comes in a lot of different model.

HTC 8X mobile

2. HTC 8X

The HTC 8X comes with the new Windows Phone 8 OS from Microsoft. It has an 8 MP camera and comes in many different colors. With Windows Phone 8 Live Tiles you can customize your phone with the apps you use the most, to auto update with message, pictures and e-mails in the background. Windows Phone 8 also have better support for BlueTooth and the Windows Phone app store currently has about 120,000 apps available for download.

3. Garmin GPS Sports Watch

Garmin Forerunner 210 is a very accurate GPS watch. The data can be analyzed and maps produced of training activities. Great for training for a marathon, recording the route of a paragliding trip, etc.

RHA MA450i earphones

4. RHA MA450i earphones

Not long ago I wrote a review of MA450i earphones from RHA. It might be a great idea for Christmas presents this year. It is high quality earphones made iPhone, iPod and iPhone.

5. Windows 8

The newest client operating system from Microsoft came just before Christmas. What a big surprise it is 😀 The Holiday sale of Windows 8 might give us a hint on how popular Windows 8 will be in the future. Will it be able to compete with Windows 7 on the desktop marked and how about the tablets?

What do you want for Christmas?

Finally I would love to hear what you want for Christmas? Any big technology wishes on your list? Are you going to give away any tech gifts this year?

Hi Tim, This is a great list! Believe it or not, I am not craving tech for Christmas. I have all of the tech I need, though none of it is the latest model. I have older models of my phone, computer, iPad and Kindle. But they work fine for me so I don’t see a need to upgrade.

How about you? What’s your favorite tech you’re hoping for this year?

    • Thomas says:

      Hi Carolyn
To be honest I normally don’t wish my any tech stuff for Christmas. I prefer to by my tech devices myself to make sure I get the best 😉 I do however like to give away tech stuff present.

      • Carolyn says:

Sorry about the typo, Thomas! I know your name.

I’m like you, I have what I need but like to give tech gifts to others. I like introducing people to new tech, but they have to have open minds. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. My father didn’t like his Kindle, but my father-in-law can’t live without his now.

HTC 8x is the best but i will choose windows 8 over it as i need it hard..

  3. Dmitri says:

HTC 8X looks good but not sure if there are plenty of apps available for this platform yet. I will go with the new Nexus phone this time.

    • Thomas says:

      Hi Dmitri
I know what you mean. Not that the number of apps are that important for me, but there still is a lot of the cool apps that are not developed for Windows Phone.

  4. Karen says:

I do have to say that I do like the look of the earphones, being an avid listener of music these would be perfect for my Christmas list, I’ll have to add them to my list to give to Santa on Saturday 😉

Hi Thomas! Thanks for the info on some of the new tech gadgets. I am a fanatic when it comes to new tech stuff that is coming out. I have been looking for an all in one tablet/notebook for awhile now, so when I saw the commercial for the Surface I knew it was something I had to have. Any thoughts on the Surface or similar devices?

    • Thomas says:

      Hi Ron
I don’t have any tablet yet, but I have been thinking about a Surface too. I have also considered a Google Nexus 10, but it is a more regular Android Tablet. The Surface has some advantage for a PC guy like me and it has a real kind of keyboard. I am not sure yet what device I will go for.

Thanks for the great ideas, Thomas! My wife, knowing that I work at DISH, has been bugging me for a way to stream TV to another device when I am hogging the TV. What she doesn’t know is that I already got her an iPhone 5 to stream to, as well as a DISH Sling Adapter to stream live TV and DVR recordings from our Hopper DVR. Now I am looking for a few stocking stuffers to go with the new phone, and I think those earphones might be just what I have been looking for.

I think Windows 8 could be the best and productive gift. I recently hit the gadget shop to ask Windows 8 price and I was surprise. Compare to Windows Vista and Windows 7 when released, it’s extremely cheap.

I think it would be the cheapest and best gift coz these days everyone has computer and they are of good use.
