My favorite WordPress plugins

Check out my favorite WordPress plugin

WordPress plugins
With WordPress you have access to tons of plugins. Some are fantastic and some are not. It can be quite a lot of work to find the good once. That is why I have decided to make a little description of my favorite plugins:

  • Akismet
  • Add Meta Tag
  • Avatar plugin
  • WP PHP Widget
  • Google Analytics Plug-in
  • WP-Polls

Akismet:

Akismet is one plugin you can’t live without if you want people to leave comments on your blog and on the other hand want to keep spammers away.

Add Meta Tag:

The Add Meta Tag plugin easily makes you insert and edit Meta tags for your site without manually editing PHP files. Nice and easy plugin that make it easy for you.

Avatar plugin:

Upload you own avatars to make comments on your WordPress blog more personally.

Google Analytics Plugin:

With the Google Analytics Plugin you can easily put in the Google analytic code at your WordPress blog. Just like with the Meta Tag plugin this make it easy for you to put in your code.

WP PHP Widget:

With WP PHP Widget you can insert PHP code in a widget. Put in a couple of lines with PHP code, and make the result appear in a widget on your blog. Nice and easy.

WP-Polls:

Use WP-Polls to create online multiple choice polls on your WordPress blog. Let people vote on your site for whatever you find interesting.

  1. XML-Sitemap do you like it?

    wp-total cache?

  2. I have not yet had time to try XML-Sitemap, but I are going to. I am using wp-total cache on my site, byt not sure what to think of it yet.

XML-Sitemap is extremely important, it allows for Google Spiders to crawl your website appropriately and efficiently.
Total-cache won’t really improve your website until you start to see heavy traffic on your website, but it’s good to have because in case one day you get a massive flow of traffic.

I forgot to mention Broken Link Checker is a must. Google penalizes websites that have broken links.

Global Translator if you want your website to be automatically translated into different languages.

Web Ninja Auto Tagging System, it adds relevant tags to your posts, so it’s more likely your post will be listed on top search results.

Whydowork Adsense, very useful if you want to monetize your website. Easily choose where you want the advertisements to appear, and remove at any time.

WordPress.com Stats, I like Analytics, but I like to be able to see a quick report on my dashboard, so this is helpful, it tells you how many people have seen your website and how they found you, and the links they clicked on your website.

Google Analyticator, just adds the code into your whole website to make sure Google Analytics is working 100% efficiently.

    Just me 2 cents.

    1. Hi Aaron
Thanks for your comments. I am testing the XML-sitemap at the moment. Until now I have just updated it manually, but it is smart that it is happening automatically whenever you make changes or post news.
I think I will take a look at the Broken Link Checker plugin. That sound like a very good ide.

Don’t you like to DIGDIG and SEO plugin from Yoast these are my favorite plugins

    1. I have never tried DigDig, but I had tried SEO by Yoast. SEO by Yoast did for some reason not work very well for my blog. In fact I had to remove it again. Now I am using All in One SEO Pack.
